POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL.
FRIDAY, 5TH OCTOBER 2018.
TODAY’S DEVOTION. HIGH PRAISE IS DEEPER WORSHIP PART 1.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE.””Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand”. (Psalm 149:6 KJV)
Praise and deep worship are expressions of approval and commendation of God. When you say something is high it means it is deeper than normal in degree, intensity or amount. The literal meaning of high praise is the act of praising God in a relatively broader, fuller, superior, higher or deeper quality than those around you.
The Lord expects us to always give Him deeper worship i.e praises in high spirit, elated, excited, energetic praise and worship. God is a spirit and if we must worship Him, it has to be in truth and high spirit. Deeper worship is a thing of the spirit, not from your head but heartfelt worship.Since God is a spirit, it takes an act of spiritual and deeper worship to access Him. Deeper worship goes beyond your mouth,
“These people draw near Me with their mouths and honour Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me.”(Matthew 15:8 AMP)
Ordinary worship is done with the lips or mouth where you commend and approve God with just your tongue but your heart is unconnected. You can worship God with your mouth and the heart does not get involved. This is very common in our churches where people just sing because of melody and dance yet their hearts are not in tune with the praise. Genuine deeper worship is heartfelt worship.Your spirit, soul and body are involved. Your thought is fixed on Him as you lift up your voice to worship Him. You cannot be involved in deeper worship to God and be absent minded.
Help me Lord to worship you deeply with my spirit, soul and body in Jesus Name. Amen
